The cold front is now working into eastern Kentucky with winds gusting to near 40mph at times. Temps have dropped into the 30s behind the front and we've had reports of sleet and snow mixing with the rain in Lexington.
Police in Laurel County say they got a call early Sunday morning, from Rosalee Karr. She told dispatchers that she had just shot her husband.
The shooting happened at a home near London.
Whey police arrived, they found David Karr shot in the stomach.
He later died at the hospital.
Investigators say the shooting was done on purpose, but Rosalee Karr's mother says that's not the case.
"She said David took the gun, and pointed it toward his stomach, and told her to pull the trigger," Rosella Sergent said. "She did because she thought the gun was empty."
Rosalee Karr now faces murder charges.
She's scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Laurel County.
