Family Reacts to I-65 Charter Bus Crash

It was a trip home, after a week with family at a beautiful location in Niagara Falls. It was a trip that friends say members of the Jackson family had looked forward to.

They were more than halfway home to Alabama when tragedy struck.
Today, one of two small communities in Forkland, Alabama are dealing with the loss of a beloved grandmother.

The family is grieving for 71-year-old Carrie Walton, one of the oldest members on the trip, who was killed after she was thrown from the bus.

Those who knew Walton say her family was the most important thing to her. Several town officials from Forkland were also on the trip just going along to be part of the Jackson family's vacation.

A relative says those who didn't go on the trip are working to get transportation up here to Kentucky to be with the rest of the family as they recover.

Red Cross officials say about half of the injured were young members of the Jackson family and one of those children is in the hospital in Nashville in critical condition.
