Man Pinned, Killed By Runaway Truck

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) - A 58-year-old West Liberty man has been killed in an unusual accident five miles northwest of Morehead in Rowan County.

State police report Curtis Stephens was servicing a portable restroom at a work site when he saw that his truck was beginning to roll. Detective Toby Gardner says Stephens attempted to jump into the cab of the truck, but it rolled into a tree, pinning Stephens between the door and cab of the truck.

Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt says Stephens died at the scene. He says Stephens was a native of Elliott County where his brother, Ronald Stephens, is the sheriff.

Morehead is 58 miles east-northeast of Lexington.
