Some Boyle County missionaries are back in Kentucky Saturday night.
The group from the First Baptist Church of Danville managed to get home with help from the Christian organization 'Samaritan's Purse.'
Members of the group were working with Global Outreach as part of a leadership conference for Haitian church leaders when the quake struck. Their compound, located about ten miles outside of Port au Prince, did not sustain significant damage.
In the hours after the quake struck, the group found themselves assisting the injured with very limited medical supplies. Many of the injured people who came to their clinic had suffered burns after a flour mill near their compound exploded.
Despite all the devastation they witnessed, the group hopes to return to Haiti someday to continue providing missions work.
