Burglar Fires Shots At Homeowner

Video will be available shortly

A Madison County man says a burglar fired shots at him overnight.
It happened on Mountain View Drive, between Berea and Richmond.

Daniel Bryant says he left his garage door open. When he went to check on it, he found a man standing inside.

Bryant says he confronted the man, who then started firing shots at him.

Bryant was able to escape without being injured.

The homeowner says the man was trying to get away with a weed eater.

KSP troopers used dogs to track the person but lost the scent and have very little in terms of a description at this time. They say burglaries that turn into shootings are highly unusual.

Bryant tells us that he is shocked that someone would go to such lengths over a gardening tool.
