A major winter storm is on the way to the bluegrass state. Local high water issues are possible early Wednesday and that will be followed up by heavy snow and sleet. Significant accumulations are likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
An eastern Kentucky child is in critical condition after being hit by a car while waiting for his school bus.
He was hit around 7:00am Thursday morning in Ashland.
Police say the 7-year old boy ran into traffic, while attempting to cross the street. The boy reportedly suffered severe head trauma, he was airlifted to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in West Virginia.
The child's name and condition have not been released, pending notification of family members. Police said the driver of the car wasn't hurt.
