Bands of light snow are working across the region. These can put down some light accumulations on the grass and elevated surfaces.
Lexington police say the Kroger on Chinoe Road
was robbed late Saturday night. And, they searched for the suspect on the ground and from the air.
Witnesses told police that a man walked into the supermarket in the usually quiet upscale neighborhood and implied he had a weapon.
The robber had a cashier fill a bag with money. Police say the suspect is a Hispanic man, between 25 and 30 years old, with a buzz cut. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, t-shirt, and long black shorts. After he left the store, he was seen on foot headed for a nearby apartment complex.
Police were called at 11:40 p.m. and units searched the area for the man on the ground and by helicopter.
Police have not yet said how much was taken.The search for the suspect continued into the early morning hours.
