It's a storm that most Kentucky residents have been anticipating as it made its way across the midwest. The wintery system finally reached Kentucky Friday evening.
By Friday night, the brunt of the storm was in southern Kentucky where snow began falling steadily at about 7:30 p.m.
In Whitley County, the highways and streets remained relatively quiet as it appears most people heeded warnings about the storm and opted to stay off the roads. Many businesses including restaurants and hotels saw very few customers.
NewFirst crews are remaining in southern Kentucky through Saturday to bring you the latest developments on this powerful winter storm.
