Bands of heavy snow are now working through Central Kentucky. By the time this system ends on Thursday some areas will pick up more than 1 foot of snow.
Dispatchers in Whitley County weren't as busy as they often are when severe weather strikes the region. It seems that residents heeded the warnings about the storm and opted to stay indoors and off the roads.
The cities of Williamsburg and Corbin remained relatively quiet Friday night and into Saturday. Most hotels in the area along the I-75 corridor didn't even reach fifty percent capacity and restaurants saw very few customers.
While the interstate and most main roads in the county remain passable, authorities are urging residents to stay off the roads until the storm passes.
