New Security Measures at this Fourth of July's Red, White and Boom

Print

Many will flock to downtown Lexington for the fourth of July Red, White and Boom festivities.

Although the same amount of fun is expected to be had, some changes in security measures have been made.

Event officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST there will be two security check points at each entrance of the event, along with a large gate that will surround the perimeters.

This year, spectators will not be allowed to bring any grills, food and drinks. Event co-ordinators say food and drinks will have to be bought inside the event.

Security officers will be checking people to make sure no food or drink items are brought inside. But they do say people are allowed to bring items that keep them cool such as large umbrellas, chairs and tents.

11 am to 6 pm: Main Street from Midland to Broadway
