Deadly Trailer Fire

Print

Investigators continue to look into what caused a deadly fire in Spencer County early Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at around 3 a.m. in the Mount Eden community near the Anderson County line.

Two people managed to escape from the flames at the home in the 5600 block of Mill Road. One man was trapped inside.

The body was sent to Louisville for an autopsy. He has been identified as 29-year old Robert McDowell. The autopsy report says he died of smoke inhalation.

Investigators say it's not unusual for a trailer fire investigation to
take longer, because they burn a lot hotter than a fire in a
conventional structure.

There's still no word on what caused the fire.
