Western Kentucky Man Convicted Of Manslaughter

HENDERSON, Ky. (AP) - A western Kentucky man has been convicted on second-degree manslaughter and first-degree burglary in the death of an 80-year-old woman.

Jurors deliberated for eight hours yesterday before handing down guilty verdicts on lesser charges against Jeffrey Scherretz in the death of Anna Green of Henderson.

Jurors recommended Scherretz serve a ten-year sentence for manslaughter and a 15-year sentence for burglary to run concurrently. Sentencing is set for August Sixth.

Defense attorney Zack Womack says he and Scherretz's family were
shocked by the verdict, and they will discuss an appeal.
