Stranded hiker rescued

It was a tense time for rescue workers trying to reach a stranded hiker early Monday in Madison County.

It all unfolded in The Pinnacles area, east of Berea.

Kentucky State Police, rescue workers and paramedics were called to
the scene.

27 NEWSFIRST has learned the hiker may have fallen from a ledge and hurt himself.

Rescue workers got there in time to stop the injured man from losing more blood.

A medical helicopter was called in and the man was transported to U.K. Hospital.

There is no word on the victim's name or condition.

However, we are told the hiker was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.

Kentucky State Police are investigating.
