Kentuckians will no longer have to cross the state line to buy the tickets.
The Mega Millions is a multi-state jackpot game, much like the Powerball. Players pick five white balls from 1 to 56 and one Mega Ball from 1 to 46.
Cedric Jackson is taking his chances at the multi-million dollar jackpot, buying mulitple $1 tickets that also gave him a shot at the Kentucky Lottery wheel, available at the day's launch party.
Now, 33 states offer both the Powerball and the Mega Millions games.
Mega Millions sales are projected to be $27 Million in Kentucky for the remainder of the fiscal year.
The Mega Millions game holds the record for the largest jackpot ever awarded, with a $390 million jackpot in 2007.
