The risk for strong and severe thunderstorms will be on the increase late this afternoon into the evening. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire area in a slight chance for severe weather through Wednesday.

Wreck Shuts Down Lexington Street

An early Thursday morning accident shut down part of Race Street in Lexington.

Police say a car hit a utility pole, bringing electric wires down too close to the road.

Crews shut down Race Street between Third and Fourth Streets, until utiity crews could fix the wires.
