Print

An investigation is underway into what caused a state police trooper to drive into a pickup truck, injuring a family.

Trooper Buddy Carey, who's with the Dry Ridge post, was off duty when he crossed the center line late Wednesday night on Warsaw Road, just west of Dry Ridge, in Grant County.

His car hit the pickup head-on.

28-year-old Edwin Gregory, of Williamstown, was driving. He's now in critical condition along with his wife, Maria.

Their ten-year-old daughter is in fair condition. A 3-year-old boy was treated and released.

State police won't comment on the possible cause of the crash, only saying it's under investigation.
