The investigation continues into a Grant County crash that sent four people to the hospital.

Police have released that the driver, 38-year-old Buddy Carey, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Carey was driving down Warsaw Road in Grant County when he crossed the center line, striking a pick-up truck head on. The driver of the truck, Edwin Gregory, and his family were all hospitalized as a result of the crash.

Gregory, his wife Maria, and their 10-year-old daughter Lisa Ann all remain at the Cincinnati University's Health Alliance. According to health officials there, Gregory is listed in serious condition, Maria in fair condition, and Trooper Carey is listed in good condition.

No one at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital could be reached to determine Lisa Ann's current condition. Gregory's two year old son has since been released.

Carey, a 12 year veteran of the Kentucky State Police, has been suspended from duty pending criminal investigation.

The Commonwealth's Attorney's office has been notified of Carey's toxicology results.

James Crawford, Grant County Commonwealth's Attorney, tells 27 NEWSFIRST that he will be seeking charges against Carey, including operating under the influence, as well as felony charges of assault and wanton endangerment.
