Taxes higher this year on SUVs and light trucks

A consumer alert for people who drive SUV's and light trucks.

You could have sticker shock when you get your new license plate tags this year.

The state says the value of SUVs and light trucks has gone up about 15%.

That means people who own those types of vehicles will pay more in tax.

The State Department of Revenue says it's all based on supply and demand.

Those assessed values are based on the Kelly Blue Book.

The good news is that you would probably get more for you vehicle if you traded it in this year.
