Deadly Plane Crash In Bullitt County

BROOKS, Ky. (AP) - A single-engine plane crashed in Bullitt
County Sunday afternoon, killing one and injuring three, local
authorities said.
The plane crashed in a cornfield about 15 miles south of
Louisville.
Thomas Jean, owner of nearby Blue Lick Airport, said he thought
there was a chance the aircraft was "probably heading" there.
Jean, who said he was a member of an emergency response team that
was at the scene, said the airplane had "plenty of gas and the
engine was running."
Calls to the Bullitt County Sheriff's department were not
returned.
Todd Gunther, an investigator in charge with the National
Transportation Safety Board, said the airplane crashed just after 4
p.m. Sunday. Details surrounding the crash were still uncertain,
Gunther said.
The plan was a Mooney, four-seat low wing aircraft, Gunther
said. Officials had received conflicting reports of exactly how
many people were on board, Gunther said.
NTSB officials were headed to the scene, and likely would be out
there Monday, Gunther said.
"It's still very early," Gunther said.
