LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Snow is falling across much of Kentucky
and transportation officials are concerned about plowing the roads
before colder temperatures move in and freeze the slush.
Spokesman Allen Blair of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet
says roads in all northeast counties were snow covered and very
slick before dawn Tuesday and snowplows were working. Crews were concentrating on the major routes.
A wintry mix was forecast for Morehead, then snow with up to
five inches by late tomorrow. In Paducah, it was all snow early
Tuesday, but was expected to taper to flurries after about noon.
A winter storm warning was in effect Tuesday for most of the
state, covering all of western Kentucky and a broad arc through
Louisville, up the Ohio River Valley and southward through the
eastern part of the state. A winter weather advisory covered the
rest of eastern Kentucky.
