FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Governor Ernie Fletcher says he'll wait until tomorrow to adjourn the special session of the General Assembly.
The governor says he hopes the down time will allow for a cooling off period so House lawmakers will return to Frankfort. House members voted to adjourn last week, saying the special session was unnecessary.
House Speaker Jody Richards said it's unlikely House members will reconvene. He said as far as he's concerned, the session is over.
Senate leaders had been working throughout the day on a number of items, but the work would be fruitless if the House doesn't return.
