HAZARD, Ky. (AP) - Police say a former state representative from
eastern Kentucky has been charged with assault.
Hazard Police Chief Joe Engle says Scott Alexander turned
himself in Thursday at the Perry County jail. An officer at the
jail said Alexander had been released.
Engle told the Lexington Herald-Leader that Alexander was
charged with fourth-degree assault in an alleged incident involving
another man and Alexander's wife.
Alexander, a Democrat, represented the 84th House District from
1997 to 2000. He lost a special election in 2008 for the state
Senate seat that includes Perry County, then returned to the House
for part of that year.
