Harrison County is joining the list of other counties and municipalities that have declared Snow Emergencies.
County Judge Executive Alex Barnett says he made the decision to declare the emergency around 9 a.m. Monday morning. "Roads were as bad as they had been in years," said Barnett.
Snow plow drivers, and Barnett himself, loaded up the tractors and backhoes and began plowing. With the help of state crews, snow plow drivers say they were able to get some roads passable, but the snow emergency stands.
Barnett says the forecast leads him to believe road conditions could be just as bad Tuesday. The County Judge Executive is asking residents of Harrison County to avoid traveling unless they absolutely have to.
