Lexington Mother Indicted On Murder And Abuse Charges

The Fayette County Grand Jury Wednesday indicted Courtney Bishop on charges of murder and abuse.
Police say back in February, she killed her one-month-old son, Caleb Bishop.
The coroner says the baby died of blunt force trauma to his head.
Bishop was arrested not long after Caleb died. Police quickly charged her with murder, but she later got out of jail on a $100,000 property bond.
Besides murder, the grand jury also filed an abuse charge, saying Bishop abused the baby in the days leading up to his death.
Bishop is a former teacher at Christ the King school in Lexington.
No date has been set for her arraignment.
Bishop's father, Bob Brundige, released this statement to 27NEWSFIRST, "From day one my daughter has wanted nothing but the truth about her son. She has fully cooperated and did not do anything to her son. Obviously her cooperation and denial of these charges hasn't been enough."
