General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
It's called the silent killer, but the Lexington Fire Department is hoping to keep families safe from the dangers of carbon monoxide.
Friday afternoon, from 4 until 7, the fire department, in cooperation with Safe Kids, is hosting a carbon monoxide detector giveaway at Fire Station #9.
The detectors will come with instructions from the fire department on how they should be used.
The detectors are free to the public.
Fire Station #9 is on Richmond Road, next to Kentucky American Water.
