Mice and other rodents are popping up in more households due to the cold weather.

While we may not see many bugs during the winter, mice and other rodents are more likely to show up in our homes because they are seeking places to find warmth.

Critter Control here in Lexington say that mice can find their way into your home through openings the size of your pinky finger and they typically are found in attics.

Mice make insulation a nesting site and feed off of dead bugs and food left uncovered. They can also carry several diseases.

Homeowners should keep food in tight containers and should look for mouse droppings that may indicate a potential rodent problem.
