Body of a missing Pike County man found

New information is released after a missing Pike County man is found dead in West Virginia.

29 year old William Henry Blankenship of the Canada community disappeared on February 12th.

Pike County Emergency Management crews found his body Monday in the Tug Fork of the Big Sandy River.

West Virginia State Police do not suspect foul play is involved in his death.

Crews say his body was found near the same place he was last seen at the southern West Virginia Community and Technical College Campus in Williamson.

Officials say Blankenship was with his fiancé at the college on February 12th and said he was getting a ride home, but he was never seen nor heard from since then.

Sunday at the family's request, Pike County Emergency crews searched the river behind the school and found his body on the banks on the West Virginia side.

Officials say his body went to Charleston, West Virginia for an autopsy.

West Virginia police did not release a cause of death, but do not suspect foul play.
