Rounds of showers and thunderstorms could cause issues across the region Saturday. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible.
The snow has melted and the temperature has gone up but the effects from that extended cold snap are still being felt. It's leaving some people with a very bumpy ride.
Whether you swerve, slow down or just plow right over them, the potholes left behind are making their presence felt.
Director of the Lexington-Fayette Streets, Roads and Parks Division, Sam Williams says the roads department is getting so many calls about potholes the majority of his workforce is out filling them in.
"It's pretty much a seamless function, we go from snow and ice removal to pothole repair," says Williams.
The snow that fell prevented road crews from being able to repair them until now, but it was the chill that created most of the holes.
The crews apply a temporary patch until the road can be permanently fixed.
