Police stepping up patrols in neighborhood after stranger approaches girl

Police are stepping up patrols in one neighborhood after a girl says a stranger approached her.

The 15-year-old told Lexington Police a man came up to her Sunday night on Andover Forest Drive, while she was walking her dog.

The girl claimed the stranger said he was new to the area, and needed her to show him around.

Police say the girl then took off running. The man did not follow her.

The girl told police the stranger was driving a white SUV.
