Police Investigating Alleged Sexual Assaults Near University of Kentucky

Police are looking for a suspect; after two women are sexually assaulted while walking together in a parking lot near the University of Kentucky.

The assault happened around 2 am Sunday morning in the parking lot just off Scott street.

Police say the man pulled a gun on the two women before he sexually assaulted both of them.

27 NEWSFIRST was the only one on the scene while crews investigated.

Police found tons of evidence on the scene, including a playboy magazine next to where the women say they were assaulted.

The woman describe the man who assaulted them as a white man about 5 foot 7 with a short haircut.

University of Kentucky sent out a safety alert via e-mail Sunday.

Police don't believe this assault is associated with the recent rapes in the area.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Lexington area authorities are searching for a man who sexually assaulted two University of Kentucky women students.

Lexington Police Lieutenant Mario Russo says it was not determined whether the attack early yesterday morning occurred on the UK campus, but it was quite close.

Russo says the 21-year-old women were apparently walking home from downtown Lexington bars.

The scene of the attack was off south Broadway.

Police and paramedics were called about 1:30 am to a parking lot off Scott Street.

Spokesman Jay Blanton says UK officials posted a warning on their Web site and sent out a campus-wide e-mail.

The suspect was described as a white man 5-feet-7 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing and had short hair or a shaved head.
