Kentucky Utilities Worker Falls To His Death

GHENT, Ky. (AP) - A man died Monday after falling at a Kentucky Utilities plant north of Louisville, officials said.

William "Frank" Blackmon Jr., 46, of New Castle, died at the scene at a little after 8 a.m. EDT, Kentucky State Police said.

Blackmon was employed by Fluor Corp., which was working under contract at the plant in Carroll County.

Kentucky Utilities spokesman Chip Keeling said Blackmon fell 50 to 60 feet.

Along with state police, the Kentucky Public Service Commission and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were investigating the death, Keeling said.

Police said the death appeared to be accidental.
