Kentucky To Welcome Home Soldiers From Iraq

MARION, Ky. (AP) - Soldiers from a western Kentucky national guard unit will be greeted at a ceremony tomorrow afternoon in Marion.

The soldiers from Bravo Company, Second Battalion, 123rd Armor left Marion in November 2005 and trained at Camp Shelby, Mississippi before deploying to Iraq in March last year. They were joined by soldiers who transferred from the Alpha Company, Second Battalion, 123rd Armor from Leitchfield. The military extended the soldiers tour as part of the troop surge President Bush ordered.

Marion is expected to be decorated with flags on several streets. The Crittenden County Chamber of Commerce asked local businesses to decorate and post welcome home signs.

Dignitaries and soldiers will speak at the ceremony, but Sergeant Aaron Davis says it will be kept brief so that the soldiers can reunite with their families as soon as possible.

Another arrest in alleged crime ring case
