Members of the Kentucky Air National guard are back home after spending more than a month helping Haiti relief efforts.
About 45 members of the 123rd Contingency Readiness Group flew out of Louisville five weeks ago.
They set up airfield operations in the Dominican Republic to get relief into Haiti.
Guard members say homeless victims of the January 12th earthquake are living in tens of thousands of temporary tents.
They say the devastation in Haiti has changed them forever; in one instance a little girl who had one arm amputated only wanted to hold hands with an American in uniform. They say that demonstrates how the American soldier represents hope for many of these victims.
