A three-month-long investigation that spanned two states has netted investigators some $200,000 worth of stolen farm and construction equipment.
Authorities arrested 45-year-old Stephen Rooks of Columbia, KY. They believe Rooks was responsible for transporting the stolen goods from Tennessee into Kentucky.
Among the stolen items are a GMC pick-up truck, a John Deere tractor, a utility trailer, and numerous other types of heavy equipment commonly used on farms and construction sites.
Rooks was lodged in the Adair County Jail but was released on bond. He faces a charge of receiving stolen property and seven counts of felony obscuring the identity of a machine.
Police are still investigating and more charges are pending.
