We've been seeing more cases lately of children in homes with active meth labs.
Now, Laurel County Sheriff's Deputies report finding five children at a home, where an active meth making operation was taking place.
Late Friday night, deputies say they got a complaint of a possible meth lab at a home on Fisherman's Cove Road.
Once there, deputies say they detected a chemical type odor associated with making meth. They say they later found a meth lab inside, along with the children.
Once there, deputies arrested 28-year-old Roberta Petro and charged her with making meth and possessing ingredients to make the drug.
Petro is also charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
The children were examined at a hospital, then turned over to social services.
