Police rule out causes in teen's death

An autopsy was done Monday afternoon on a teen found dead outside her Kentucky apartment.

The Boone County coroner says the results of the autopsy show Karen Kappelman was not beaten, injured, or subjected to any sort of trauma. They say it also shows she did not die of hypothermia.

Investigators are now waiting on toxicology results in hopes of determining a cause of death.

A neighbor found 15-year-old Karen Kappelman's partially clothed body in the snow early Sunday at a Boone County apartment complex.

She was likely last seen alive by a group of friends she'd been out with Saturday night.

Kappelman lived at the Legends Apartment Complex in Walton.
