Trial For Bourbon County Official To Begin

The trial for Bourbon County's Circuit Court clerk is set to begin today.

State police say Sherry Rankin tampered with public records.

Rankin is charged with four counts of official misconduct; all are misdemeanors.

The investigation goes back to last year.

Last September, state police raided Rankin's office at the courthouse, taking computers and documents.

Rankin has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The trial for Rankin's co-defendant, deputy clerk Whitney Jones, is scheduled for Thursday, July 26.
