Statewide tornado drill planned

Tuesday is drill day throughout the state as part of severe storms preparedness month.

Emergency officials will hold the drill Tuesday at 10:07 a.m.

The drill will be broadcast in schools and over the NOAA Weather Radio system.

Officials say this is a great opportunity to practice your emergency plan for tornadoes.

Remember, a basement or interior bathroom is often the safest place in a home during a tornado.

This spring severe weather season, remember the 27 FIRST ALERT DEFENDER will keep you ahead of the storm.

It's the most powerful radar in the state, scanning the skies both vertically and horizontally.

The FIRST ALERT DEFENDER can detect, analyze, depict and warn of more kinds of dangerous weather than ever before.
