Report: Two Kentucky electric companies may soon be sold

Questions are being raised about who will own and operate some Kentucky electric companies.

The New York Times reports E.On, the German company that owns LG & E and Kentucky Utilities, may be looking to sell them.

The paper says the companies could fetch up to $6 billion.

The report says E.On is trying to divest its overseas assets, and concentrate on its home-based European market.

The report also says Duke Energy and PPL Energy are engaged in competing bids for the companies.
