Man robs Richmond business at gunpoint

The search continues for a man police say robbed a check-cashing business at gunpoint.

Payday USA, on Big Hill Avenue in Richmond, was held up just after 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say a man walked in, pulled out a gun, and demanded money.

A worker for a nearby tax agency, who did not want her identity known, says she saw the robber drive off, as she was trying to drum up business while dressed as the Statue of Liberty.

"As I was jumping around waiving at everybody, I usually look inside the vehicles and the gold van was coming up and usually you don't see a gold van with dark tint," the worker said. "It had dark tint all the way around it on the front windshield. Probably a 12 inch strip on the front of the windshield."

Police say the suspect had his face covered. His van had a Kentucky license plate with the numbers 110 on it.
