Nicholasville road is the latest in long list of construction projects on Lexington's roadways.
It's part of a greater project in the Lexington Fayette area totaling $47 million dollars in state funds.
The project also encompasses Interstate 75 and 64 roadwork.
The roads being worked on so far are: Winchester, Richmond, Tates Creek and now Nicholasville.
All of the roads are being resurfaced.
Nicholasville road should be complete by end of next week then construction will likely will move to Versailles once the funding is available.
Most of the work is being done overnight and on the weekend, but it will still cause delays during the week.
If you know alternate routes use them.
