Jessamine County man killed in Lincoln County crash

Stanford, Ky. - The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department reports a 23-year-old Jessamine County man was killed last evening when his vehicle careened off a rural road near Stanford and crashed into a tree.

Charles W. Stewart of Nicholasville was driving north of KY 39 near North Deep Well Woods Road, according to the Sheriff's report, when he apparently lost control, ran off the road, and slammed into the tree. The wreck happened shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday.

Stewart was rushed to the U. K. Medical Center but was pronounced dead by Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn at 7:25 p.m. Ginn's report says Stewart died of "multiple blunt force trauma."

The accident is under investigation.
