Second dose of H1N1 vaccine to be available in select Fayette County schools

The H1N1 vaccine will be available again to students in Fayette County next week.

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is returning to three schools to provide free vaccinations to students ages 9 and under, who need their second dose.

The health department decided to host clinics at schools that had the most students in need of a second dose of the H1N1 vaccine, instead of hosting clinics at every school again.

The clinics have been set up at the following locations:

Tates Creek Elementary - Tuesday, March 9, 2:45-6 p.m.

Cardinal Valley Elementary - Thursday, March 11, 3:30-6 p.m.

Harrison Elementary - Friday, March 12, 3:30-6 p.m.

The health department says you do not have to be a student at those schools to get a free vaccination.

Parents must be with their children at the clinics. Any parent or child who hasn't received the first dose of the H1N1 vaccine can also get it at these clinics.

The health department is also still offering the vaccine at its Public Health Clinics at Newtown Circle and Regency Road.
