Five people killed on Kentucky roads last week

Preliminary statistics, released Monday by Kentucky State Police, show five people died in five separate crashes last week in Kentucky.

Police say single-fatality crashes happened in Elliott, Franklin, Garrard, Laurel, and Monroe counties.

Police say two of the victims were not wearing seat belts.

Through Sunday, state police say preliminary statistics show 102 people have been killed in crashes on Kentucky roads so far in 2010.

That's 27 fewer deaths than was reported in the same time period in 2009.
