A Montgomery County teenager remains in critical condition after a crash on her ATV. 17-year old Jessica Fulkerson was rushed to UK Hospital over the weekend after the crash. Family and friends held a vigil Monday night to show their support and to hope for a recovery.
Jessica Fulkerson's friends tell 27 Newsfirst a Mount Sterling parking lot is one of her favorite places where her friends often gather just to hang out. That's why that is where they came to pay tribute to their friend.
Teenagers organized the impromptu vigil that brought dozens together. A pastor offered a few words of prayer, but mostly it was an opportunity to share silence as they kept Jessica Fulkerson in their thoughts. Classmate Sarah Razor says she and her friends are still hoping for a miracle. "I told her that we were praying for her and that I wasn't giving up on her," Razor said.
Fellow Montgomery County High School junior Megan Lovell says the opportunity for friends to comfort each other is in the spirit of their friend. "If you're down, she's down with you, she's wanting to get your hopes back up, and she wants to make you feel better about yourself," Lovell said.
To help her family with expenses, a fund has been set up in Jessica Fulkerson's name at Traditional Bank in Mount Sterling.
