Former UK basketball player pleads guilty in ticket scam

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (AP) - Former University of Kentucky
basketball player Ed Davender has entered a guilty plea in Fleming
County in an athletic ticket scam.
The Ledger-Independent in Maysville reported the 43-year-old
Davender accepted a plea deal in which he pleaded guilty to one
count of felony theft by deception over $500. The bargain includes
a recommended two-year sentence and a requirement to repay $748 to
the victim.
Davender was accused of taking money for two UK men's basketball
season tickets, but never producing them.
He will be sentenced April 16. The court can choose to send him
to prison or place him on probation.
Davender pleaded guilty in January to three theft by deception
counts in Harrison County. Similar charges against him are pending
in Fayette County on 23 counts.
