Dangerous Dogs In Lexington?

Chief Nathan Bowling has seen it all when it comes to vicious dogs. He says the worst cases are when juveniles are involved.
Bowling has been an animal control officer for 21 years.
He says he supports a new registry in the state of Virginia for violent dogs.
Much like a sexual offender registry it would require anyone with a vicious dog to have it registered.
Animal control officers don't determine if a dog is dangerous. Rather they impound the animals until a judge can deem them safe or vicious.
There are 10 to 15 active cases a year for vicious dogs in Fayette County.
Bowling believes a registry similar to Virginia's would make Kentuckians safer by keeping track of people who own vicious dogs and allowing people to find out what kind of animals their neighbors own.
