Arrest made for convenience store robbery

A man is now under arrest for the robbery of a Richmond convenience store last July.

Richmond Police arrested 28-year-old Kevin Todd McElroy Monday.

Police say on July 7, McElroy went into the Park-It Market on Bradbury Pointe Drive, pulled out a gun, and demanded money from the cash register.

Police say they later developed McElroy as a suspect in the case, and even interviewed him once, but did not charge him at the time.

McElroy was interviewed by police again Monday for an unrelated matter. After that interview, police arrested him for the convenience store robbery.

McElroy is charged with first degree robbery. He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
