Video will be available shortly

Federal investigators are on the way to Southern Kentucky after a deadly plane crash.

It happened just before 6:30pm Thursday evening off of Suber Road near Science Hill. Investigators say the single engine plane clipped some trees before crashing into a wooded area.

Investigators are not sure of the planes destination but it was registered out of Tennessee. The pilot died in the crash, his name has not been released yet. He was the only person on board.

Investigators say the pilot may have suffered some sort of medical problem just before the crash.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive to the crash scene on Friday.

AP Story

SOMERSET, Ky. (AP) - The pilot of a single-engine plane was found dead after the plane crashed Thursday in southeastern Kentucky, officials said.

The pilot was identified by Deputy Pulaski County Coroner Jim McWorter as Frank Kyser, 60, of Rockwood, Tenn. An autopsy was planned in an effort to determine if a medical problem could have led to the crash, McWorter said.

The plane appeared to have gone down "almost nose first," Science Hill firefighter Kenny Shepherd said. No one else was aboard the plane.

The crash happened at about 6:20 p.m. EDT in a wooded area in the Science Hill community north of Somerset, firefighters said.
