Bourbon Man Convicted Of Lesser Charge In Murder Case

A jury returns a not guilty verdict late tonight in a Bourbon County murder case.

After nearly seven hours of deliberations, the jury found Kristopher Carter not guilty of complicity to commit murder in the 2004 stabbing death of Jennifer Toadvine.
The jury did find him guilty of abusing a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
Carter's mother says she has mixed feelings about the verdict.
The jury recommended Carter serve five years in prison. He will be eligible for parole in one year. Toadvine's family says they feel justice has been served. A second man, william oliver, is serving 30 years for the murder.
